Rui Zink

Portuguese writer and professor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He studied Portuguese folk culture and literature and later received his PhD, which he defended with his dissertation on comics. He debuted with his novel Hotel Lusitano and is the author of more than 40 books, including novels, essays, comics and children’s literature. His work has been translated into many languages and has won awards such as the Prémio Pen Clube Português for his novel Dádiva Divina and the Prix Utopiales for the best foreign novel for the French edition of A Instalação do Medo. In addition to his literary activities, Rui Zink has been a visiting professor at universities in the USA. He is also a prominent figure in the Portuguese public space.
